Leeds United Invites FC DELCO's Nick Irvine to Train In England
Leeds, UK — Leeds United, an English football club with a rich history and tradition, has invited FC DELCO Under-16 goalkeeper Nick Irvine to train for two weeks this coming February at their Elland Road facilities in Leeds, England. Leeds United is currently fighting their way back to the top-flight after suffering financial difficulties a few years back. United has always been known for their youth development program with many of their former players (e.g. Alan Smith, James Milner) currently enjoying great careers playing in the Barclays Premiership. Nick Irvine, who's family hails from Leeds, was invited over in November of 2007 for a run out with their Youth Academy. Based on that success, Nick was invited over again this February for two more weeks of training. "It was a fantastic experience," said Nick of his time last November. "I really enjoyed being at the facilities and training with the Youth Academy players." Adding, "I'm really looking forward to going back and improving my game; it's a great training environment." Good luck, Nick!
